This photograph, taken at a busy campus intersection, captures the quiet but relentless rhythm of a generation on the move. By focusing on the anonymous, lower halves of the figures, the image becomes a universal statement about a collective journey. This is not about individuals, but about a generation in stride. The cracked, weathered asphalt represents the imperfect foundation of the world they inherited. Yet, they are not deterred. Their persistent, forward motion is a testament to their resilience. A new world is possible not through a single, grand event, but through the millions of determined, individual steps that form a collective walk. I used a slow shutter to capture the blur of movement, a symbol of their dynamic energy. This is the subtle, powerful process of change: a generation walking together, creating a new path forward, right on top of the cracks of the old one.

A Generation in Stride

This image is a minimalist allegory for our collective journey. The vast, turbulent sky, with its deep and moody clouds, represents the present moment—the storms of uncertainty and challenge we must all navigate. It is the beautiful, intimidating, and complex world as it is. The lone airplane is a symbol of human hope and resolve. It is small and solitary against the storm, yet its course is unwavering. It is the emissary of our ambition, a testament to our enduring need to seek what lies beyond the horizon. A new world is possible, and its promise is visible in the break in the clouds—the patch of clear sky that is the destination. This photograph is about that passage. It is a meditation on the courage it takes to fly through the storm, guided by the belief that a calmer, brighter world awaits.

Towards Clear Skies

To the Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Devotee, ìlẹ̀kẹ̀ are powerful conduits of sacred energy and meaning. Beads like the Ide Ifa are believed to hold àṣẹ and connect wearers to ancestors (*Egungun*) and Orishas. To activate the protective and spiritual properties, Ide Ifa is often consecrated through specific rituals involving Ifa priests. Each Ọ̀rìṣà (deity) has its own colors and bead patterns. Wearing the beads of an Ọ̀rìṣà marks a devotee’s allegiance, initiation, or relationship with that force of nature. For example: white beads for Ọbàtálá (purity, clarity), red and white for Ṣàngó (fire, justice), green and red for Ògún (iron, war, technology), red and black for Esu, Blue and white for Yemoja; and yellow for Osun   Just as a compass guides a sailor through the vastness of the sea, ìlẹ̀kẹ̀ guides the believers in their spiritual journey. They serve as a constant reminder of the spiritual bond that ties them to the Ọ̀rìṣà.  It is believed that when a consecrated bead breaks it can be interpreted as a sign, indicating the need for spiritual consultation.   Today, we see people wearing beads purely for style. But for the devotees of Ifa, each strand represents faith, a piece of history, and a personal shield. Whether worn under clothes or boldly displayed on the necks of Priests, Priestess, and Orisa devotees, they’re a reminder: spirituality isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s a single bead against your skin, whispering where you come from and who walks with you

Perched 1,600 meters above sea level, the Highland Tea Farm is the largest highland tea estate in West Africa, spanning about 1,200 hectares. Each morning, before the mist lifts and the sunrows harsh, women arrive as early as 6 a.m. to pluck tender leaves under the cool mountain air.  They are expected to gather up to 50 kilograms of leaves (the weight of a bag of rice) to earn ₦1,000. Beyond the lush green hills, this image tells a deeper story of resilience and quiet strength. Many of these women are the primary breadwinners for their families, balancing demanding labor with the care of their homes. This image seeks to uncover the unseen strength and dignity of the women whose hands do not just toil the land but nurture life itself.

This photograph is a direct answer to a question: "What does it feel like to be in the very heart of this moment?" To create it, I rejected the role of the passive observer and became a participant. I danced with the crowd, moving my camera in time with their rhythm, and pressed the shutter to capture not an image of the event, but a transmission from it. The result is intentionally chaotic—a visceral translation of what it feels like to lose yourself in a collective moment of transformative energy. This, I believe, is the true perspective of change. A new world is not something you witness from a safe distance; it is a chaotic, disorienting, and exhilarating state you must inhabit. To be a part of it, you must be willing to give up your clear, stable point of view and join the dance. This is what it feels like to be here.
